Vol. 11 – Number 44 – 2020 CLINICAL DENTISTRY NOTEBOOK Case report Page 78-83 Aesthetics and functional rehabilitation using semi-direct and direct technique – a case report Carolina Gealh Navarro Escobar1 Juliana Larocca de Geus2 Jefferson Ricardo Pereira3 John Alexis Dominguez4 João Carlos Gomes5 ABSTRACT This case report aims to demonstrate an effective and conservative treatment, restoring the vertical dimension of the patient lost due to dental wear caused by bruxism, based on the application of a mixture of direct and indirect composite techniques (semi-direct technique), being considered an ideal technique for reestablishing the vertical dimension of occlusion with restorations in the posterior teeth. It is a technique with conservative wear of the dental remnant, reducing laboratory costs, optimizing clinical time, presenting better marginal adaptation and satisfactory dental anatomy compared to the technique with indirect parts. Compared to the direct technique, it presents greater polymerization and easiness of the technique, when performed correctly. Descriptors: Dental wear, oral rehabilitation, vertical dimension. 1 Esp.
