Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective study with a sample of 37 patients presenting Class II malocclusion, who were undergoing orthodontic treatment. The age, gender, weight and height data were collected from the medical records, together with the initial CT scan. Dental development was assessed using the method of Demirjian et al. (1973). Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to determine the correlation strength between variables. The statistical significance considered was p <0.05 two-tailed. Results: The sample consisted of patients between 10 and 16 years old. The majority of the patients (78.4%) had a normal BMI. There was a weak correlation without statistical significance between tooth development and BMI in the evaluated patients (r=-0.10; p=0.55). Conclusion: There was no correlation between BMI and dental development for the sample studied.
