Precocius treatment of class III skeletal occlusions is very important from the viewpoint that if treatment is to be delayed until after adolescence, the probability of the necessity of orthognastic surgery is significantly increased. The objective of this article is to relate a clinical case of the treatment of a class III skeletal malocclusion during the initial phase of permanent dentition. Treatment was carried out by the rapid expansion of the maxilla associated with reverse traction. With these therapeutics, it was possible to achieve a satisfactory facial and skeletal equilibrium.
