Vol. 11 – Number 42 – 2020 IMPLANTOLOGY NOTEBOOK Case report Page 24-30 Guided bone regeneration (GBR) technique associated with titanium mesh to increase alveolar ridge volume in the maxila anterior region ABSTRACT Alveolar ridge deficiency is considered an important limitation for the successful placement of dental implant, especially in the maxilla anterior region. Several approaches have been developed for bone volume reconstruction. Thus, the objective of this study was to report a clinical case of bone architecture reestablishment of the anterior maxilla by guided bone regeneration (GBR) technique associated with titanium mesh. The patient presented element 12 with great tissue destruction causing root exposure, severe vestibular bone loss, and dental mobility. The clinical conduct of choice was to perform guided bone regeneration associated with titanium mesh using grafts simultaneously to implant installation. A postoperative follow-up was carried out over a period of 6, 12, and 24 months. So, it was possible to conclude that the guided bone regeneration technique associated with titanium mesh promotes satisfactory bone neoformation and can be used safely, even concomitantly with the installation of osseointegrated implants.
