Alvaro Linhares da Fonseca e Campos¹ Katherine Antonio Martins² Camila Soares Bernardes² Sandra Regina Albuquerque³ Stephanie Mesquita da Silva² ABSTRACT In contemporary dentistry, there has been an increase in the search for positive changes in smile aesthetics and with that the objectives have become broader, not only restricted to the teeth3, but also addressing both the functional and aesthetic part of the face, being known as orofacial harmonization, which offers patients more proportional faces. The Greek philosopher Aristotle defined beauty as “an inaccurate sense of harmonious or aesthetically pleasing proportionality,” since then “golden ratio” has been employed as the most aesthetically pleasing proportion, proposing to use it as the most attractive symmetrical form. But nowadays, the reality is that each time this aesthetic pattern is being disregarded by patients, since beauty is a relative characteristic and each person has a different perception about what is beautiful. various procedures and materials that are used to provide symmetry and harmony to the face, and one of them is the use of fillers.
