Vol. 10 – Number 40 – 2019 IMPLANT DENTISTRY NOTEBOOK Case report / Case report Page 44-51 Immediate implantation in aesthetic area – current perspectives and case report Vanessa Ribeiro Barbosa Felício1 Leonardo Coelho Lima Salgado2 Gabriel Feital Fusaro3 Antônio Carlos Bento Júnior4 Bruno Feital Fusaro5 Summary In the anterior region of the maxilla, the aesthetic result and its long-term stability are of paramount importance, as well as adequate function and phonetics. In order to achieve these objectives, it is necessary to have knowledge about bone physiology, well-defined criteria about when to perform the immediate implant technique, as well as knowledge about biomaterials, provisioning techniques and implant insertion in adequate positioning. The immediate placement of the implant is the treatment of choice when the necessary requirements are present. For patients, this approach is attractive because it offers low morbidity, reduced treatment time and the possibility of immediate aesthetics with a provisional prosthesis installed in the same procedure. The preservation of the contour and aesthetics can be achieved through the use of bone substitutes, correct design of the prosthesis and techniques of soft tissue grafting. The preservation of the contour is performed with autogenous bone graft at the site, while biomaterials such as DBBM particles are used to maintain the volume. Epithelial tunnelled tissue graft techniques are also used on the buccal face.
