Vol. 1 – Number 1 – 2019 Case report Page 70 Harmonizing the face with botulinum toxin and injectable fillers Weider de Oliveira Silva¹ Miquelle Vieira de Carvalho²   ABSTRACT Perception of beauty throughout life has always been a subjective and individual issue, influenced by cultural, racial, ethnic values, the need for popular acceptance and contextualization of what is fashionable and exposed in the media. Aging is a continuous process that has direct effects on the skin. In this sense, there has been an expansion of new non-invasive substances and technologies for orofacial treatment, with great recognition of facial fillers and botulinum toxin, previously only due to surgical procedures. Among the benefits of these new noninvasive materials and techniques are low cost, shorter recovery time and fewer complications. Botulinum toxin type A is a neurotoxic substance, obtained in the laboratory and produced by the bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. It is used in dynamic wrinkles, produced by repetitive contractions of the facial muscles and the natural aging of human skin, which causes a blockage. neuromuscular conduction, making the process reversible and replicable as many times as necessary over the years without side effects as long as it is applied by a qualified and qualified professional, within protocols of three to six months according to the patient profile. Currently, the use of Botulinum toxin and injectable fillers appear as an important treatment option for facial harmonization, thus complementing the result of conventional dental treatments. Thus, the objective of the present work was to address relevant aspects in the harmonization of the face. Highlighting the importance of the study of facial anatomy, observation and evaluation of the muscles involved the correct dosage of the products and their respective application points, where the patient aimed to change the aesthetics of the face with alteration of the profile and volume of the lip.
