ABSTRACT
Many people today have opted for minimally invasive facial lifting procedures, accepting a more modest degree of aesthetic improvement, such as the use of threads, which provides smooth skin sagging and wrinkles, avoiding large incisions, thus having a lower possibility of adverse effects, rapid healing and reduced recovery time, as well as a totally satisfactory and aesthetic result. Male, Caucasian, 60-year-old patient with complaints of senile facial appearance. He did not want to undergo a surgical procedure for fear of scarring, longer recovery time, and believing that surgery could cause a lack of natural face appearance. It was then suggested to the patient, in the upper third of the face, the use of polydioxanone (PDO) threads; in the middle third of the face, Russian threads; and in the submental region, Double Needle threads. The patient showed satisfaction with the result obtained. Comparative photographic evaluation was used before and after the procedure. One of the main advantages of the non-surgical method is the treatment of mild to moderate signs of facial aging that can’t yet be submitted to more invasive procedures, or when the patient does not want scar stigma. The combination of the procedures performed with the wires allowed the repositioning of the face structures in the evaluated patient, being a fast procedure, with a short recovery period, and a relatively low complication rate, performed in the office, making the method more accessible. Compared to surgical methods that require hospital stay.
