Cross-sectional study where the sample was selected for convenience and consisted of 20 male and female students with mean age of 22.8. For descriptive analysis the mean and standard deviation of the ages of the individuals as well as the frequency of the sexes were evaluated. For inferential analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test was used with a 95% level of significance to analyze the data distribution. Due to the non-normality of the study variables, the Spearman correlation test was used. In the analysis of correlation between the groups, there were strong correlations between the techniques: conventional and DSD in relation to the Dolphin reference standard. When the DSD was compared with the manual technique in relation to the Pog ‘point, the correlation was moderate (r = 0.58, p = 0.006) different from the A’ point comparison (r = 0.73, p = 0.001) resulted in a strong correlation. According to the data the DSD presented itself as an effective, accurate, low cost and easy access to do the facial analysis.
