In some cases, after treatments for functional and esthetic purposes, such as orthodontics, there’s a need for exclusively esthetic intervention to improve the resulting of the treatment. The present case aimed to report the clinical protocol of esthetic smile rehabilitation through periodontal surgery and direct composite resin veneers in a young patient. The patient’s main dissatisfactions were: small teeth which presented disproportionate aspect to his face and diastema between the anterior superior teeth. Through anamnesis and clinical examination it was possible to confirm the dental aspect reported by the patient, as well as to verify normal general and oral health. It was also possible to evaluate dentofacial asymmetry, where the dental morphology was not similar to each other neither were compatible with the patient’s facial profile. To solve the case, it was proposed to perform gingivoplasty and confection of direct composite resin veneers. As part of the protocol, extra and intraoral photographic shots were processed. The surgical stage was delimited by a surgical guide and the restorative stage was assisted by the help of a palatal wall. The veneers were performed four months after the surgical procedure under modified absolute isolation and using the adhesive technique. Through this clinical approach, it was possible to fulfill the patient’s expectations as well as achieving satisfactory esthetics and functionality. Descritores: Gingivoplasty, dental veneers, composite resins. ¹ Graduated in Dentistry – UFPR. ² Graduated in Dentistry – UEM, Me. and Dr. in Dentistry – UEPG, Prof. in the Specialization Course in Dentistry – ILAPEO Faculty, Substitute Prof. in Operative Dentistry – UFPR.
