The emergence of minimally invasive ceramic laminates, commonly known as “contact lenses”, allows the fabrication of ceramic restorations with minimal thickness for cementation. The CAD/CAM system has many advantages: it is possible to fabricate an indirect restoration in a few minutes, reducing laboratory steps and, especially, the possibility of milling thin ceramic restorations. However, knowledge and practical training in the use of this system are essential for clinical success in cases of minimally invasive veneers. This case report highlights the failure of minimally invasive restorations in lower anterior teeth made by the CAD/CAM system and discusses the need for knowledge of the system software to prevent the failure of restorations.
