Its etiology is multifactorial, and its act is considered a risk factor in several areas of dentistry, affecting the oral health and quality of patients life. An alternative to assist in the treatment of bruxism is the use of botulinum toxin type A, which is currently being used. Produced by an anaerobic gram-positive bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. Presenting myorelaxant effects at the application site of use, it has shown improvements in muscle use and in pain this pathology causes, as in the clinical case performed.
