Black Mirror Orthodontics – Handbook of survival in times of technological uniqueness

Dr. Mauricio Accorsi

Introduction
It is undeniable that orthodontics has changed radically and rapidly in recent decades. New clinical approaches, protocols, devices, and disruptive technologies are transforming the face of the oldest dentistry specialty. This is challenging for some more conservative colleagues, who may be missing out on staying in business, working more efficiently and even more profitably; and, on the other hand, it also opens the door to an inappropriate use of these technologies, which may misread the specialty as we know it. In this first article in the new column, we will explore concepts that may be helpful, especially for younger people who are just starting out in this digital world, but also for the more seasoned, who are in doubt whether they will be active or moving towards early retirement.
