Vol. 13 – Number 52 – 2022 NOTEBOOK OF CLINICAL DENTISTRY Case report Page 104-110 Oral rehabilitation with removable partial denture over dental roots buried anteriorly Venâncio Corrêa Neto¹ Gabriel Garcia Bardales¹ Ligia Regina Mota Vasconcelos¹ José Antônio Nunes Mello¹ Marco Fiori Junior¹ Jonas Alves Oliveira¹ ABSTRACT The treatment of unconventional removable partial prosthesis over dental roots, in which the roots remain submerged in the alveolar ridge, aims to reduce bone resorption and promote better load transmission. This paper aims to describe a clinical case of oral rehabilitation with partial removable prosthesis on roots buried in anterior region. The 45-years-old female patient sought dental care complaining of a broken tooth. Upon intraoral clinical examination, it was observed generalized biofilm accumulation, presence of dental calculus and bleeding, absence of teeth 12, 14, 17, 25, 36, 46, and 47, unsatisfactory restoration in 11 and destruction of 21 crown. The treatment included supragingival and subgingival scraping in all sextants. With socioeconomic factor as a parameter, the best indication for treatment was the root burial of teeth 11 and 21 for a rehabilitation with partial removable prosthesis on the roots buried in the upper anterior region. The planning of the superior PPR was carried out with the design. Burial of teeth 11 and 21, endodontically treated, were performed, and in the same consultation, the proof of the metal frame was performed. Two days after the burial, the upper prosthesis was installed. Proservation care was still required one year after the installation of the prosthesis, and there was a need for an oral hygiene protocol and awareness in the interest of oral health. It is concluded that providing vertical support and delaying bone crest resorption were important in treatment planning, making the prognosis much more favorable.
