With scientific advances, it is increasingly sought to soften the aspects of aging, in this context, the Federal Council of Dentistry recognizes Orofacial Harmonization as a dental specialty for the aesthetic and functional balance of the face and, among the areas of competence includes lipoplasty chemical, which consists of a minimally invasive procedure to reduce fat. The objective is to identify the adverse effects of chemical lipoplasty in Orofacial Harmonization. The methodology was to search PubMed for themes: ATX-101, deoxycholic acid and adverse effects. Were selected: accepted manuscript, original articles, contribution of multicentric study, clinical trials and review article. He also researches in the journal Simmetria Orofacial Harmonization in Science and on the websites of National Health Surveillance Agency, Allergan and Innovapharma. The results are presented in Tables 1 and 2, with 16 studies from 2021 to 2016 and 8,254 participants and 2 illustrative figures, which contribute to delimit the region to be applied the ATX-101. The deoxycholic acid is an effective aesthetic resource in chemical lipoplasty, minimally invasive, well tolerated and approved. It is recommended that the dental surgeon who specializes in Orofacial Harmonization be aware of the appropriate procedures to minimize the adverse effects identified in this study, as well as provide the patient with detailed guidance on their risks, benefits and include them in the Free and Informed Consent Form.
