Vol. 14 – Number 53 – 2022 NOTEBOOK OF CLINICAL DENTISTRY Case report Page 101-105 Microsonics technology for endodontic treatment of teeth with calcium metamorphosis – case report Ricardo Mendes Nery Filho¹ Micaela Nunes Goes¹ Joana Martins Dourado¹ Evaldo Almeida Rodrigues¹ ABSTRACT Calcium metamorphosis implies greater anatomical complexity of the root canal system and is a challenge for endodontists. Due to the difficulties that calcified canals can offer, the professional must be able to use technological resources that help him in the search for more effective treatments. This study aimed to present the endodontic treatment of a maxillary central incisor with calcic metamorphosis and chronic apical periodontitis in which technological resources were essential for the mastery of anatomy. The operating microscope associated with the ultrasonic inserts were used in the treatment of the unit. After months of endodontic treatment, the absence of painful symptoms was observed. Radiographic follow-up suggests normality in the periapical and periodontal region. Thus, the results obtained are considered positive in relation to the expectation of maintaining health and endodontic treatment durability. Anatomical and pulpal alterations are challenging for the professional and technological resources can be indispensable to achieve success in solving complex cases.
