Interest in the application is in tissue regeneration, wound healing, scar revision, skin rejuvenating effects, and alopecia. These are autologous materials, consisting of blood collected from the patient. The overall objective of this study is to present a review of the literature on the clinical efficacy and safety of plasma gel injection (PRGF-gel) as a dermal facial filler. The results indicate that both PRP and PRGF-gel applications have been relevant and positive in the impact of facial rejuvenation, confirmed by patient assessments. Therefore, the protocol used can be considered an effective and safe method. The studies presented that such materials can be used as a safe and effective method, being a new therapeutic option for several pathologies in dermatology, among these fields, aesthetic medicine. However, it is evident that there is still a need for well-designed studies regarding the design and evaluation method, to really establish the effectiveness of PRP and PRGF-gel in the treatment of skin aging.
