Vol. 4 – Number 13 – 2022 Case report Page 36-44 Placement of spiculated polydioxanone wires guied by ultrasound – case report Alexandre Silva Cardoso1 Renata Aranha Nascimento Cardoso2 Luiz Fernando Ferreira de Barros3 Juliely Nascimento Furtado de Moura4 Sheila Mara Morais Santos5 Regiane Bernardes Silva Domingues6 ABSTRACT The demand for aesthetic treatments has been happening more and more precocious, which in a way contributes to the emergence and new techniques updates, since the demand is not only to mitigate the effects of aging, but also to prevent them. Facial and body threads can be indicated to treat photoaging, facial asymmetry, fine and thick wrinkles, furrows, mild to moderate facial ptosis, from neck and areas of the full body. The ultrasound guided procedure (UGP) is a concept of anatomical location, in real time, for procedures that needs a great visualization of noble structures, as well as granules caused by the use of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), material so much used for decades in aesthetic procedures and can be the causal agent of many complications, compared to the modern techniques of facial harmonization (FH). In this way, the complications related to the proper insertion of the threads end up being almost completely avoided with UGP, providing greater security for those procedures. Thus, this article seeks to evidence the ultrasonography importance (US) for FH and show its notoriety as a diagnostic and help procedures performed by FH.
