Assim, os implantes zigomáticos surgiram como alternativa complementar e que apresenta elevados índices de sucesso descritos na literatura. Seu princípio se baseia no fato de que o osso zigomático não sofre o processo de reabsorção a que estão sujeitos os ossos maxilares após a perda dos elementos dentais. Neste artigo relatamos um caso clínico de uma paciente que apresentava uma reabsorção severa da maxila e foi tratada por meio de implantes zigomáticos e implantes convencionais, recebendo uma prótese provisória sete horas após o procedimento cirúrgico. Esta técnica, além de possibilitar a reabilitação dos pacientes edêntulos, permite a instalação de prótese em um protocolo de carga imediata caso os implantes atinjam um bom travamento inicial. Abstract There are cases where the resorptive process of the maxilla reaches levels so severe that there is adequate bone support for implant placement. So the zygomatic implants have emerged as an alternative complementary in with high success rates in the literature. Its principle is based on the fact that the zygomatic bone does not undergo the process of resorption they are subject to the jaws following the loss of dental elements. In this report a case of a patient who had a severe resorption of the jaw and was treated by means of zygomatic implants and conventional implants and received a temporary prosthesis seven hours after surgery. This technique also enable the rehabilitation of edentulous patients, allows the installation of prosthesis in a protocol of immediate load implant case to achieve a good initial crash.
