As a result, there was an increasing number of patients wants for this type of treatment, it one of the most performed in private practice today. Research on dental materials for this type of treatment has increased dramatically. Therefore, in this same sense, this work aims to evaluate the bond retention characteristics of resin cements in lithium disilicate ceramics, when subjected to different forms of surface treatment and different resin cement compositions. For this study, a literature review was carried out with search in the PubMed and Scielo databases, in the last ten years, in Portuguese and English. As a conclusion, regarding the bond strength of resin cements to lithium disilicate ceramic, dual resin cements showed higher bond strength values when compared to photoactivated cement. And conventional resin cements have higher values of adhesion when compared to the group of self-adhesive resin cement and in relation to the substrate treatments of lithium disilicate ceramics. All clinical protocols in the surface treatment allowed an increase in bond strength, indicating their need. However, there is a need for further studies, as there is still no definitive consensus on the scientific literature.
